Siuslaw Stewardship Group

The Siuslaw Watershed Group (SSG) was formed in the fall of 2002 and became the forum for collaboration between the Forest Service and the community, with representation from local government, non-profit organizations, private landowners, and regional environmental organizations. The SSG has a role in advising the Forest Service on their stewardship projects and recommmending new restoration projects in the watershed. Although the Forest Service is not bound to follow these recommendations, the particpants feel that their input has been highly valued. This process is built on trust and commitment to a shared vision.
