Social Vulnerability & Natural Hazards

Background
Understanding factors such as poverty, gender and race that can contribute to the vulnerability of a community to losses from natural hazards can help in identifying strategies to reduce risk and potential losses from disasters.

Resource Innovations is actively participating in the Gender and Disaster Network (GDN), an educational project initiated by women and men interested in gender relations in disaster contexts. Each year, Resource Innovations creates a poster highlighting the efforts of GDN Members.
